![]() Several new experiences and integrated lifecycle management operations are enabled, such as visualizing all DNS resource records that pertain to an IP address, automated inventory of IP addresses based on DNS resource records, and IP address lifecycle management for both DNS and DHCP operations. ![]() Integrated DNS, DHCP, and IP address (DDI) management IPAM supports DNS resource record, conditional forwarder, and DNS zone management for both domain-joined Active Directory-integrated and file-backed DNS servers. IPAM capabilities are improved for scenarios such as handling IPv4 /32 and IPv6 /128 subnets and finding free IP address subnets and ranges in an IP address block. Updates in IPAM Server 2016 Feature/Functionality Reporting in the IPAM management console.Remote administration support through RSAT.IP address lease and login event tracking.Service and zone monitoring of DNS services.Static IP inventory management, lifetime management, and DHCP and DNS record creation and deletion.IP address space utilization statistics and trend monitoring.IPv4 and IPv6 address space planning and allocation.IPAM collects information from domain controllers and Network Policy Servers (NPSs), and then stores that information in the Windows Internal Database. IPAM enables the administration and monitoring of DHCP and DNS and provides a comprehensive view of where IP addresses are used. To help organizations manage IP addresses, Windows Server 2016 provides the IP Address Management (IPAM) tool. Maintaining an updated list of static IP addresses that have been issued has often been a manual task, which can lead to errors. IPAM automatically discovers IP address infrastructure servers and Domain Name System (DNS) servers on your network and enables you to manage them from a central interface. There are no NDI monitoring apps for iOS I could find. The Microsoft IP Address Management (IPAM) is an integrated suite of tools to enable end-to-end planning, deploying, managing and monitoring of your IP address infrastructure, with a rich user experience. The have NDI WebLink which converts the NDI stream into a browser consumable via JPEG and which can also be viewed on iPads. The folks at NDI source also make a few other apps which I didn't try. So if you needed someone to just follow along as you work, most semi-technical clients should be able to handle that. ![]() The client side setup of this is a free download and simple install. Of course that was all on our office network, the other part is the slower broadband connection and dealing with the firewall. There was maybe a couple of frames delay judging from the audio echo between my grading machine and the laptop. Then I downloaded the free NDI StudioMonitor app form NewTek onto a PC Laptop and was able to monitor the stream full screen. On the Macbook Pro I installed the NDI Source app ($39 download from app store) which connects to the MiniRecorder and turns into in a NDI stream. I routed that into the BMD MiniRecorder (like some of us do for Scopebox) and into a Macbook Pro. I have the BMD Studio Monitor configured on Resolve for external monitoring. Because I like to tinker and got intrigued I tested a low-tech setup in my office earlier today, the components to which most of us having lying around anyway. In some situations a more basic solution may be ok though. That 30 min or so of facetime with the dir/prod/editor is super valuble, but that's the ony time we need to interact directly ![]() We are still miles and miles ahead of sound, typicaly the mix about a week behind color as it is, so no real world need to move any faster If we did the remote thing it would mean the roundtripped media on Wed evening in LA -vs- 11am Friday FedX it goes through QC cleanly and we go on the the next show they ship on Monday, and they get their disk back on Friday i render the roundtrip media, put it on their drive and ship it back to LA next day the editor shares my ui screen and we all (dir/prod's) go through notes & tweaks together, usualy 30min or so the editor in LA/TO screens it with dir/prod, he has a callibrated mon, and shoots me notes for the next day's session i send a 12g or so DNx36 screener after about 6 hours work, it's pretty close by then they ship me media managed files + DRP + sample frames from the DP via the editor I've been doing this with a clients in both Toronto and LA recently for tv 1hr eps's ![]()
